Smith , seven others receive Rice teaching honors

چکیده

The Brown Foundation, chaired by George R. Brown, provided f u n d s fo r t e a c h i n g a w a r d s beginning in 1967. This year the awards were determined by the votes of alumni with Bachelor's degrees who graduated in I980and vote in preferential order for the three faculty who they remember as outstanding teachers. The Nicolas Salgo Distinguished Teacher Award is funded by The Noren Salgo Foundation and Rice University. Current juniors and seniors determine the recipient of the honor. According to the rules of the awards, a faculty member who wins the Brown Prize for Excellence cannot receive the award again for seven years. A faculty member who receives the Brown Award for Supe r io r Teaching three times becomes ineligible to receive it for another seven years. The Salgo Award ma\ only be won once.
